The Good News - The Bad News!

Have you missed me? Oh, I have you - all the blogs I follow have disappeared - and that's only a small part of my problems - I am thinking maybe a couple of dear friends in Blogland maybe able to get me get out of that spot of bother! The Good News - it is so lovely to be here ... The Bad News - I smashed my car up last Tuesday and from here on I will pop from good to bad news! I was the only person in my car and there was only a driver in the other car involved and he certainly appeared to have survived quite nicely. It would probably be imprudent to go into too many details at this time - I have fractured my sternum and the pain is not nice. I certainly have had my wings clipped and am having a little worry about my 'to-do's', but forever optimistic, I feel I will get there. In order, parcels for my recent Giveaway have not been posted, along with one special one. Also I have my SSCS with Chookyblue to complete and my Small Quilt Swap with Mary to start and complete - let's hope I cover a bit of distance in the week to come, how? I don't know, but we'll try, lol!

Let me tell you about the top fabrics - I have bought a bundle of fat quarters from Calico & Ivy by Melissa White Rowan Fabrics - now do I have to have a reason, well I haven't, just thought they look look very gorgeous and will be there for one day ...

Another circle finished - I think that is 5 out of 9 I want to do. If only I had plenty of handwork prepared - I find I can sit comfortably for a little while if propped up with pillows!

I've had time to do quite a bit of browsing and have come across this lovely little eagle silhouette quilt by Sarah Feilke in her book From Little Things ... and look, I think I just happen to have fabrics in my stash to piece the background in 3" cut squares - can I manage the machine? - we'll just have to see - it would make me feel so good if I can concentrate and achieve!

I hope this Post publishes okay - fingers crossed and hope you are all having a great weekend, big hugs!

Thanks for All Your Lovely Visits Recently!

Not a lot of sewing happening here but a little bit of shopping as usual! A little from Australia and a little from the USA, too! Hot, hot, hot - we are in record temperatures at the moment - forever the optimist, I feel maybe the heat will break at the weekend and all will be pleasant soon. I couldn't resist this book - a real sweetie!
I think this little girl will come to life first!

Just divine - all small quilts and I would recommend it to all doll quilt and repro enthusiasts!

A little peak!

Another!
Things are just not working out for me with Kaffe's Wheel of Fortune, so I will start on Block 4 of The Circle Game this evening - can't wait to play! My sewing machine has not been happy - hopefully it is okay now!
My Blogger Dashboard page has really become upset - it tells me I am not following any blogs at the moment and also other gear is missing - perhaps I need to try a Restore and then do a Backup - so much for untidy in situ and external hard drives and an operator who doesn't sort out her priorities!
Hope to talk again soon - happy weekend and lots of hugs

Cross Stitches Aplenty!

Having lived thirty years in remote areas I do have a 'few' cross stitches to show - thanks Chooky for the invitation to join in - I have many more and would you believe no UFO's! Blogger is being very naughty for me today - in fact I haven't had a very nice week computer-wise - oh, well, we all get them I guess!

This Vintage Santa was a delight to stitch - tricky on his beard and also there is gold thread on his rod. Being the purist that I was in those days it was stitched on 32 count pure linen as most were.

As far as I can work out, this is traditional original Santas from different countries - if somebody cares to enlighten me otherwise I would be pleased to hear!

For my Mum who is now 92 and lives with us - and Dad who I love so dearly and he left us in 1983! It will be a nice little heirloom for one of my children I hope.

This one does not show its true charm - and it has a partner of the alphabet that I have glimpsed similar on another blog today. The light didn't want to agree with the camera so not such a good pic. I've been so lucky with these though - all taken inside and through glass
This has been a lovely chance to show off our fine needlework. In my case and I guess a lot of others, too, memories of days gone by and they really were such happy times - most of mine spent at Nhulunbuy (Gove) Northern Territory.
Happy weekend everyone and I hope to do a lot more browsing yet - it has been lovely! I've had a sort of productive week. 'Bye!
PS - even my proper signature has gone - I will have to try to catch up with Santa's Elf some day soon!
